Required Documents To Apply For Parent’s Residence Visa
To successfully complete the application process for sponsoring parents or parents-in-law, the following documents and requirements must be provided:
The original Emirates ID of the sponsor.
Clear copies of the sponsor’s Emirates ID, valid residence visa, and passport.
A copy of the applicant’s passport, ensuring at least six months of validity.
One recent digital photograph of the applicant, professionally taken in a studio.
The sponsor’s birth certificate, duly attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and translated into Arabic.
For sponsoring parents-in-law: an attested birth certificate of the spouse, and a marriage certificate of the sponsor—both attested by the UAE MOFA and translated into Arabic.
A consanguinity or relationship letter issued by the sponsor’s consulate or embassy in the UAE, attested by MOFA and translated into Arabic.
A valid tenancy contract, Ejari, or title deed indicating a residence with at least two bedrooms and a hall.
Sponsor’s personal bank statement for the last three months.
Depending on the sponsor’s profession or business status, additional documents are required:
If the sponsor is an investor or partner: trade license, Memorandum of Association (MOA), and establishment card.
If employed in the private sector: a labour contract stamped by the Ministry, showing a monthly salary of AED 10,000 or more.
If employed in a Free Zone: an Arabic salary certificate issued by the Free Zone authority confirming a salary of at least AED 10,000.
If working in government or semi-government: an Arabic salary certificate from the employer confirming a salary of AED 10,000 or more.
Additional Notes:
A security deposit of AED 5,000 is required for each parent.
An additional fee of AED 283.15 applies if the sponsor does not have an active sponsorship file.
Applicants from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and Iraq must submit their national ID as part of the documentation.
